As well as helping people to live a life free from addiction, we also offer education to encourage you to adopt safer behaviours around drugs and alcohol. Providing effective harm reduction services lowers the possibility of overdose and injury within the community, whilst reducing stigma around drug use to ensure more people just like you can seek help and advice sooner.
Staying safe around drugs and alcohol
Our harm reduction services include:
- Providing clean needles to injecting drug users, including those using steroids
- Monitoring alcohol units via a drink diary and staying within safe alcohol unit guidelines
- Giving information on how to stay safe on a night out, whether drinking alcohol and/or taking drugs
- How to stay safe when taking recreational drugs and so called ‘legal highs’
- Providing dry blood spot testing for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV plus vaccinations for Hepatitis B.
