This month, Spark celebrates its first birthday. With more than 1200 referrals into the service already, including 100 young people and families, the partners of Spark are engaging the community supported by more than 40 active volunteers, and customer-led through the “Roots Community” service user group.
Each month Roots hold open events for customers and the public, with around 80 people attending each time and influencing the way decisions are made. Together, they have also funded 20 local projects through its Community Asset Fund, including Shad Chefs, the Wonder Women volunteer peer support group, and the Blackburn Youth Awareness project’s Community Fridge.
